Sonic the Hedgehog No-Name

We and a bunch of our friends have made a new and completely awesome and amazing Sonic 1 Hack titled Sonic the Hedgehog No-Name. Wondering why we picked such a strange name? We couldn’t come up with anything really decent so we decided on this to have a name for a release. Split Disassembly Hacking – The PSB Message

This is what it looks like before fixing it.
Today we’ll be showing you how to get the Press Start Button message back on the title screen in Sonic 1. All you need is a split disassembly, (downloadable here) and an ASM editor. We recommend you use our Sonic Hacking Studio, or another editor except Notepad. The message was present in earlier builds of Sonic 1, but it won’t be shown because the Sonic Team Presents screen uses up RAM and doesn’t clear all of it, causing the Press Start Button to stay hidden. Mega Drive Hacking Studio

We are currently making our own little Mega Drive Hacking Studio for you! It is aimed at split-disassembles, but should be usable for lots of other stuff too. It will be released for Mac, Linux and Windows, and will include many new features. We hope to release something soon, so you can try it out before anyone else can. Sonic 2 Ultimate Edition

As you may know, we planned on releasing our Sonic 1 Hack a while ago, but we decided to not release it due to some messed up levels, and code. Instead, we have worked hard to get Sonic 2 Ultimate into a state of Beta. Watch out for a Teaser-Trailer and a beta ROM way to soon! More >
